I believe that Croatia can find its place in the Hydrogen Economy in all four areas of hydrogen technology, from production, through storage to transport and use of green hydrogen. The current situation is such that Croatian companies with investments in any segment that includes green hydrogen cannot go wrong.
Croatia’s National hydrogen strategy will send a clear message to all those interested in investing in hydrogen technology that the state is on their side.
Among other things, I would like to emphasize the possibility of involving Croatian companies in the equipment production sector (such as electrolyzer and fuel cell stacks, measuring and control equipment, sensors, etc.), which would ensure the rise of the Croatian economy and entry into the European and world market stage. It is also worth to emphasize shipbuilding (hydrogen fuel cells + electric motors) in maritime transport. Hydrogen ships can be an opportunity to save or revive Croatian shipbuilding. It is still a relatively underdeveloped area and I am sure that Croatia has a lot to offer.
Croatia certainly has a chance to compete in the field of hydrogen, it certainly has something to offer. For example, let’s just remember Končar’s wind turbines and electric trams. OK, maybe at that point in development they were a little ahead of their time so they didn’t live up to the splendor they deserved, but these systems still work today. These are Croatian products based on Croatian knowledge.
